Mission

About
The Friends of the Chattanooga Public Library are community members who donate time and money to support library events, professional development of library staff, programs for special populations, and more.

Most of our funds come from the semi-annual book sales we hold. Other funds come from membership dues, memorial gifts, and donations to the Friends’ Endowment Fund or special projects. We also raise funds through our Alibris online sales. When you are looking for a book to purchase, please consider buying through our online storefront at
alibris.com/stores/chattlib .

The funds raised are used only for library needs beyond the budget provided by the City of Chattanooga. Through the Friends' continuing volunteer efforts and financial support, the library has been able to offer summer programs for children, teens, and adults as seen below
.

The annual meeting was held at the downtown library 4th floor November 21, 2014 and it was followed by a buffet lunch with keynote speaker, Mrs. Corinne Hill, Executive Director of the Chattanooga Public Library. Corinne talked about "The State of the Library." She did a wonderful presentation and discussed changes that have been made during the last three years as well as future plans.

Friends of the Chattanooga Public Library wish to thank  Florence Ashby, Chairman of the Annual Meeting Committee, for organizing this event.
